Vijay, your talk has definitely raised more than a few voices:)

Looking at the growth of One97 and discussing it with a few thought leaders in the industry, I am keen on connecting with the *cult*!

The energy, the platform as you have right mentioned has always been part of NASSCOM EMERGE events and I think Avinash is doing a great job of it.

PR 2.0 is happening now and am sure we have lots to explore in common!

Would love to connect!

Best,
Charu Bajaj

Vijay,

Good to see your blog. You should update it often. Do write about the parallels you see between the internet and the telcom industry, and which kind of you think will be successful on mobile as they are on the internet. I am sure they cannot be adopted as is and will require mofications.

Dear Rahul,

Sure, we are proud to be our brand ambassadors!

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts. The need to enhance our logo in sync with the enhancement of our positioning makes perfect sense. Also, an evolving brand to my mind means dynamism, hence another positive.
As for the new look of our logo, here are my uncensored thoughts:
Initially, I rebelled. :)

Then I thought, maybe I am too used to the old look. So I decided to do this exercise for a few days: I would stare at the new look, thanks to the new wallpaper, to get it into my system. Then a curious phenomenon happened. I was not too uncomfortable with the new look any more.
Having said that, I'd also like to state that I am not too much in love with the linear, coz linear to me denotes flat, horizontal - something that is just sitting there. Sleeping line, as opposed to standing line. :)
Then again, may be this looks a bit too linear due to the tagline following the symbol. Is it a part of the logo? Another thing: how would this long horizontal area covered by the new look come out in the collateral? Especially the BTL ones? We sponsor big events and get little space in the banners. So would it not become a slight concern in practicality?
I do love the speech blobs/bubbles... and the play of colour in them. They give visual appeal and personality. Would this element be a part of the logo too?

I hope I am not being a bother! Just meant this as a thought trigger.

The White "I am there, but I ain't" blinds rock!

Our Hemkunt Chambers office is so cool and yet so warm. Just ideal for the development team. Terrific planning, team, and so quick, too.

Congratulations to all of us on a spanky new office!

The move for standarisation of short vode numbers acros the nation is very much necessory. YES it will make some additional expenditure for existing 3/4/5/6 digit operators for rebranding. It seems DoT has the control over only about the number plan. The main thing about short code, 'revenue' is fully uncontroled or 'do as you wish' type. There are more areas where the DoT should think about standarisation as, allocation of short code, cost of service, revenue share among operators and content providers, short code allotment over national level or for all the operators. It will be great ?? if TRAI suggest the revenu sahring regulations. All operators now dont have a standard structure for new allotment of short code / services. All have earned a small byte of big cake of A,B,C. Astrology, Bollywood, Cricket. they should also teast new applications and development in other field, it will be more fruitfull too.

Scenario now is really pity for new commers in the field of VAS. In fact the services has the power of revolution. It should be used for good practial purposes than ring tone, music and bollywood masala. New applications should be promoted, and in fact supported by the operators. Where as the existing picture is up side down.
